The racing is organised by the Ocean Marina Yachts Club under the auspices of the Yacht Racing

- RULES
- The Regattas will be governed by: The Racing Rules of Sailing. No national prescriptions shall apply.
The Platu 25 Class Rules 2018 as amended by the NCA of Thailand.
This Notice of Race and as amended by the Sailing Instructions.
- Between the hours of local sunset and sunrise the International Rules for Preventing Collisions at Sea shall apply.
- The World Sailing Special Regulations Appendix J, Category 5 Special Regulations shall apply to all These shall include, but may not be restricted to the following: yachts must carry a suitable engine and adequate fuel, anchor and towing lines as well as lifejackets for all crew. The participating yachts must adhere to reporting schedules, minimum drinking water requirements, if any. Additional safety rules, if any, will be available from the organizing committee before racing.
- All yachts MUST have a functioning VHF Marine Band Radio, capable of monitoring channels 72.
- Advertising on a boat or by its crew is permitted in accordance with the ISAF advertising code, formerly known as Category C
- The Organizing Committee may require all participating boats to display the event sponsor’s advertising on the first 20% percent of the hull and the first 20% of the mainsail boom plus a sponsor’s flag of maximum size 500 mm x 750 mm on the backstay
- ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
Entry fee is 400 Baht/person for Non Ocean Marina members and free for members
EXCEPT…..for all Platu Championship rounds the charge is 7,000 baht for the boat and all its crew.
- SCHEDULE
This is the proposed schedule for events. However the Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend this schedule, and any other rules, with the Sailing Instructions. Racing will take place as per the Ocean Marina calendar 2024. Skippers briefing at 0.930 on Saturdays and 10,00 hrs. First warning signal will be at 10.55 hrs .
5, COURSES.
The racing area will be in front of the Ocean Marina Pattaya. A description of courses to be used will be issued at the skippers briefings. The courses will be inshore or coastal windward leewards at the discretion of the organizers. The course(s) will be chosen to take into account the prevailing, or forecasted weather conditions on the day of the race.
- SCORING regattas will be scored as provided in Appendix A of the Racing Rules using the Low Point system.
In the case of a tie over the weekend best positions will be taken into account. If only two races are scored in a class the total corrected times will be used to decide the winner.
- INSPECTION
All yachts shall be liable for inspection in accordance with safety & measurement requirements.
- CLASSES will be decided each weekend depending on the number of entries.
- AWARDS
Awards may be given for overall class winners depending on the number of competitors in each class.

Results and awards… As soon as possible after racing.

6 PENALTIES
A penalty turn will be one tack and one jibe and cannot be taken inside three boat lengths of a mark.
7 INSPECTION
All yachts will be liable for inspection in accordance with applicable safety and measurement requirements.
8 TIME LIMIT
The absolute cut off time for racing, for all boats, will be 16.30 hrs every day.
- PROTESTS
It is not usual for there to be an official protest during monthly club racing because it is not often that there are “qualified ‘jurors present. However, of course, if a boat wants to protest another boat a committee will be formed of at least two skippers from boats not involved in the protest and an informal discussion will be arranged between all parties involved. The protest time limit is 60 minutes after the last boat has finished the last race of the day or the Race Committee signals no more racing today, whichever is later.
9.4 Arbitration is allowed in accordance with Appendix T
9.4.1 An arbitrator shall get consent from parties of a protest if the protest will go into either an arbitration or directly into a full protest hearing.
9.4.2 An arbitration hearing shall not be reopened. No conclusion of an arbitrator shall be subject to appeal or be grounds for redress.
9.4.3 Should the protest proceed to a protest hearing then the arbitrator may be a member of the Protest Committee. Any evidence given by an arbitrator during a protest hearing shall be given only in the presence of the parties to the hearing
